Not My Idea

Over the last few years I’ve read a lot of blogs, mainly technical based. More recently, I’ve added different types of blogs to include life hacking type blogs.  Some of those are about soft technical skills, others are about topics that make you think about life as a whole.  One of the blogs I read regularly is Brent Ozar’s personal blog and my new favorite post is his  Epic Quest. Brent’s page points out that he got the Epic Quest idea from Steve Kamb’s Epic Quest, so in ‘imitation is flattery’ style, I decided that I too, must have an Epic Quest as well.

If this is an Epic Failure, at least I will have my dreams and aspirations in a formal written format for future reference.

How it Works

Life is a series of choices, just like a video game.  In video games you do specific tasks to “Level Up” to the next level. In this Epic Quest I will do the same.  At the bottom of the page I have future goals split out into different life categories.  Each time one of these tasks is accomplished I will gain 20% towards the next level, thus Leveling Up.

Current Level:  1 (0% towards level 2)

Since I’m just starting my Epic Quest, this portion is blank, for now.

Level 0 (Everything cool before now)

Seeing as how I’ve lived plenty of life before starting this list, I’m claiming all of these as my level 1.
